BACK IN TOWN
We are so happy and excited to announce the arrival of Isabel Marant. Inspired by The Imperial Russian Ballet Company meets Flashdance this collection is worn in feminine layers of textures, skirts over leggings and then overlaid again with masculine sexy gorgeous tweedy jackets. Hurry in as you know the pieces get snapped up very quickly!
VENICE AND GREECE
I’ve had a busy travelling year. In May my 8 year old granddaughter Toni-Rae and I had a sublime girly weekend in Venice. It was such fun spending undiluted time with her. We loved our gondola rides, walked for miles and ate pizza and ice cream non stop!
I’ve just returned to Cape Town from Rhodes where the sea is bluer, the tomatoes redder, the people friendlier than any I have met anywhere. I was invited to a four day celebration there – the Batmitzvah of Raquel which was held in Rhodes to honour her late great grandmother Rachel who grew up on Rhodes but who felt compelled to flee the island she loved 75 years ago. It proved to be a wise decision as a few years later Jewish people who had chosen to continue living on the island began an unspeakably horrific journey. It was an emotional spiritual few days interspersed with stunning parties the culmination of which was at an incredibly beautiful place called Kalithea Springs.
WHAT TO SEE: I’ve just finished watching American Crime. Brilliant brilliant acting – a dark and disturbing indictment on life in America. The movie to watch for is Amy (a harrowing doccie about Amy Winehouse). Really incredible.
TWO STARS ONLY: I’ve just read Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee, the overhyped prequel/sequel/whateverel to To Kill a Mockingbird. A disappointing boring waste of time and money. No wonder Harper Lee never intended for it to see the light of day!
